Apoquel 5.4mg (100 tablets)

My silky terrier has been on this med for about 3 yrs now with great results. At times because of where we lived (in the bush with gum trees and grasses flowering year round) it wasn't strong enough to stop her itching but after moving its doing a fantastic job. She stops itching about 10 mins after having it every day and her skin gets a chance to recover. After googling the finer details of this med and seeing its leading to cancer and early deaths in dogs for various reasons and also leaves them immunocompromised i was very concerned. I discussed my dogs options with the vet and we came to the conclusion that although it may take 1 or 2 years off her life expectancy, the quality of her life over the next 10 yrs or so will outweigh the lost time. It was a judgement call really. But we are at our wits end with her and her allergies. We tried every single protein on the planet, and she can only eat human grade white fish and crocodile; i vacume my house 3x a week, doors and windows are always closed, she wears doggy pj's when outside and socks and shoes so she doesn't touch grass. She is allergic to dairy, grains, proteins, grass and many many plants and as a result her little body was suffering badly. We also tried the new stem cell treatments and she reacted terribly to them (i also read online the 4th needle is killing peoples dogs but vets are reluctant to warn people or accept it as fact) While on Apoquel medication her skin stops weeping, making sores, comedomes, isn't red and inflamed anymore, no rashes or crepe paper like consistency because its getting time to recover. She is much happier, perkier and has more energy to run around and play rather than just sit and lick or chew herself 24/7. Her quality of life is markedly improved and for this reason i'll continue to give her this med even though it is heinously expensive. I'm grateful my vet offered the script so i could save half the price by buying online. Pet Chemist were great with our order too and everything went very smoothely. I'm very happy and will definitely be back.

indy was scratching so much she rubbed off her tummy fur. Apoquel has worked so well. The tablets I noticed a change very quickly. The price is cheaper here than at vets & delivery is always very quick

Expensive but effective

Apoquel was prescribed by the vet. It has been wonderful for my dog who has had a constant itch which now seems to have resolved. Very expensive, but appears to be worth it.

arrived on time

Has a satisfactory effect in controlling my whippet’s grass allergy though I still need to be careful of letting her run riot in a paddock of long grass and continue to wipe her legs and chest down after a run . Condition would be out of control without Apoquel.
