Aristopet Oral Antibiotic For Ornamental Birds is a broad spectrum antibiotic for the treatment of bacterial enteritis and diseases caused by tetracycline sensitive organisms in birds.
How to Use
NOT TO BE USED in food-producing birds.
- Medicate the drinking water at the rate of 5g (1 measure) per 1 Litre of water.
- Freshly prepared medicated drinking water should be made available every 24 hours and should be the only source of drinking water during treatment.
- Treatment should be consumed for 3 to 5 days, or until after the symptoms have disappeared.
- 100mL of prepared solution will treat 20 small birds (Canaries, Finches, and Budgerigars) or 4 large birds (Parrots, Cockatoos).
- Remove any Calcium supplement (Cuttlefish, Grit, Nibbling Blocks, etc.) for duration of treatment as they reduce Tetracycline absorption.
* Seek veterinary advice if psittacosis (Chlamydia psittaci) infection is suspected or if birds do not respond to treatment within 5 days.
