How To Use

How to get rid of fleas & lice: First, get your little mate all wet with warm water. Now put 20 to 50ml of Rufus & Coco Flea Flee on their coat (depending on size) and massage it in. Rinse and repeat – with a really good lather! Rinse again.

Do this every week and you’ll give your pet maximum protection against fleas, lice and ticks. (And don’t forget to also manage their bed or kennel – flea spray will ensure the blighters don’t come back!)

Not to be used for any purpose, or in any manner, contrary to the product's label unless authorised under appropriate legislation.

Suitable for dogs and cats 12 weeks of age and older.

Ingredients

Active ingredients: 1g/L pyrethrins, 10g/L piperonyl Butoxide.

Pyrethrins: These natural extracts are made from chrysanthemum flowers and affect the nervous system of insects. All pyrethrins are easily hydrolysed and degraded by stomach acids so toxicity following ingestion by pets is very low. Pyrethrins are generally safe for kittens as young as 4-6 weeks of age.

Pyrethrin is NOT the same as permethrin. Permethrin is a synthetic pyrethrin and is less easily broken down than pyrethrin. Pyrethrins can be used on cats; permethrins should NOT be used on cats.

However, there are some unusual cases of pyrethrins causing dribbling and unsteady gait in cats. If these occur, wipe off excess product and contact a veterinarian.

Piperonyl butoxide (PBO) is a pesticide synergist when added to insecticide formulations.

Product FAQs

Q: Is Flea Flee safe to use on kittens and puppies?

A: Flea Flee contains natural pyrethrins, which should be safe for use on pets as young as 4-6 weeks. If you notice unsteady gait or dribbling, wash your pet immediately and contact a vet. Flea Flee does not contain permethrins, which are synthetic chemicals and are unsafe for young animals and cats.

Q: Why is using soap in washes a bad idea?

A: Using soap in an animal's wash will affect their skin as the acid layer of their skin will be disrupted. This can create an environment where bacteria, parasites, and viruses can breed out of control!

Unknowingly, many pet parents may repeat washing their animals because of the smell caused by a proliferation of bacteria, making the problem worse as the skin's acid layer (pH level) becomes more imbalanced. Additionally, if the shampoo makes their skin feel dry, your animal will scratch at their skin, creating abrasions for bacteria to invade. It quickly becomes a vicious cycle.

None of the Rufus & Coco washes (shampoos) contain soap. Rufus & Coco products use a natural base and formulation specifically designed to the average pH of pets. Consider that the normal range of skin pH levels for humans is 5.2 to 6.2, which means it tends to be on the acidic side, whereas the pH levels for dogs and cats range from 5.5 to 7.5, tending toward a more alkaline concentration.

Hence we never recommend using human shampoos on pets and we eliminate the soap all together in our washes. Many humans choose soap free alternatives too for the same reason!

Rufus & Coco washes also contain a hypoallergenic fresh scent.
