Product Information

PAW Hepatoadvanced For Cat And Small Dogs Promotes Liver Detoxification. A concentrated antioxidant supplement to help manage compromised biomarkers of the liver. It is recommended that a veterinarians opinion be sought before and during the use of this product in order to determine the needs of your pet.

Key Benefits

• Contains a stable form of S-adenosyl-L-methionine (SAMe) – central to the transmethylation, transsulfuration & aminopropylation pathways. Modulates cytokine expression, diminishes cholestasis, and regulates apoptosis
• Contains silybin – in a phospholipid complex – provides increased bioavailability compared to standard milk thistle, increases biliary flow, inhibits leukotriene production, modifies membrane function (inhibits toxin binding), restores expression and activity of antioxidant enzymes
• Contains vitamin E – promotes cell proliferation, modulates gene expression, and regulates cell signalling pathways that rely on reactive oxygen intermediates

Key Features

• Supports glutathione production
• Promotes detoxification of the liver
• Helps to decrease the negative side effects of some medications on the liver
• Supports the liver in cases of acute liver toxicity
• Promotes proper brain function in dogs
• Presented as a tasty, chewable tablet
• Simple and convenient dosing
• Formulated with delayed release technology – promotes steady metabolism by the liver and a prolonged duration of activity

If your pet is currently taking behavioural medication, please consult your vet before using Hepatoadvanced

Indications

Hepatoadvanced may be used as an adjunctive therapy in conditions such as:

• Chronic hepatitis
• Hepatic lipidosis
• Cholangiohepatitis
• Paracetamol toxicity
• Hepatotoxic mushroom ingestion
• Copper related hepatopathy
• Iron overload - Medication use including NSAIDs, phenobarbital and corticosteroids (Note: does not prevent corticosteroid-induced hepatic vacuolar change)
• Metabolic hepatopathies
• Other acute or chronic hepatopathies
• Neoplasia
• Canine cognitive dysfunction
• Cirrhosis

Product Guide

• Hepatoadvanced can be used alongside other hepatic treatments, such as prescription diets, ursodeoxycholic acid, anti-inflammatories, and other non-vitamin E containing nutritional supplements
• Regular re-assessment (eg. every 1-3 months) is recommended to ensure the optimal dose is achieved to reach the desired therapeutic outcome
• Safe use in pregnant or lactating animals has not been established

Side Effects of the Active Ingredients

SAMe

• SAMe has a wide safety margin

• Concomitant use of SAMe with tramadol, meperidine, dextromethorphan, pentazocine, MAOIs (selegiline), SSRIs (fluoxetine), other antidepressants (amitriptyline, clomipramine) may theoretically cause additive serotonergic effects
• Use with caution simultaneously

Silymarin

• Silymarin typically has no side effects, but consider drug interactions in polymedicated patients, such as the following: antiviral drugs, drugs affected by cytochrome P450 & CYP3A4 inhibition and drugs cleared via hepatic glucuronidation

Vitamin E

• There are no commonly noted toxic effects derived from vitamin E supplementation, although it may inhibit the absorption of other fat- soluble vitamins when administered at high doses
• Therefore, it is recommended to not exceed a total daily dose of 400IU per dog
• Vitamin E is not recommended in liver disease patients with evidence of vitamin K deficiency

HEPATOADVANCED

Posted by Helga Vannucci on 3rd Feb 2023

I have used HEPATOADVANCED for my dog for sometime. Initially I used Denamarin. The purpose is for Cushings disease, and I am hoping that amongst other medications it will continue to be of help for my dog!!

This product has helped my Jack Russell's liver settle down

Posted by Js on 28th Jan 2023

Blood tests before and after taking this medication showed improvement. He's doing a lot better on it.
Only negative is that the tablets are large and not really chewable. They are more like a large tablet trxture than a chew. I do have trouble getting my jack russel to take it.

Hepatoadvanced small cat and dog

Posted by Yvonne Handley on 3rd Dec 2022

This is the 1st time I have used these tablets given they are the only tablets available by way of being permanent replacement meds for Denosyl and Denamarin. I can say I am happy that these meds per tablet can be halved for my dogs daily dosage and thus resulting in a full box will.last me twice as long as the previous brands mentioned above. My dog has not noticed any difference and is happy to eat them as per usual so that's a 5☆ in itself.
Thankyou for this opportunity to give my feedback.
Cheers

good product

Posted by Haru on 3rd Nov 2022

I needed to give to my dog doing chemotherapy to protect his liver from the drug. His next bloodwork showed normal level of liver enzymes so I guess it is working. Very expensive but got my vet to sign a prescription to buy online which was half the price. Will need to take it for couple of months so ordered auto ship to make it more cheaper.

It's a big tablet, for a small dog.

Posted by kathryn giordmaina on 24th Oct 2022

I had been told that it would be cheaper if I had a prescription, but you told me it was an over-the-counter product. very expensive for a retiree.
